The Wire: VITEK Ultra Series Braided spark plug wires are manufactured with our unique stainless steel wire wound ("Mag Wire") conductor with a Dupont Kevlar® core for superior pull strength. The conductor is insulated with an extrusion of pure gold silicone then braided with fiberglass to achieve ultimate mechanical strength of the finished product. The wire goes through a second extrusion of pure silicone to a finished diameter of 6mm, 8mm, or 9mm depending on the original equipment requirements. It should be noted that this construction offers superior dielectric properties and capacitance over larger diameter wires offered by some manufacturers as a marketing gimmick. Oversize wires often do not fit the original looms making routing a problem as well as not providing the proper fit for the boots and terminals. Larger diameter wires offer virtually no dielectric advantage and many disadvantages. Vitek Ultra Series Braided spark plug wires offer maximum protection for the on-board computers and recorders drivers are using on today's race and street driven cars. Vitek wires have been rigorously tested with high-energy systems on street racers, NASCAR, and drag racecars. Vitek wires are triple insulated which allows the user to run extreme ignition upgrades as well as audio upgrades without experiencing engine noise through the stereo amplifiers and speakers. The VITEK Braid : As most people know, horsepower equals heat therefore greater horsepower produces higher engine compartment temperatures. The VITEK Ultra Series Braided ignition wire braid has been tested to resist engine temperatures up to 1200º F. This is what makes our VITEK ignition cables the very best. Normal standard silicone wires will withstand temperatures of about 500º F. This is less than half of our VITEK braid. Most manufacturers use either EPDM (Vinyl/Plastic) or a silicone EPDM blend as the sleeve of the spark plug wire. We use 100% gold silicone for the sleeve and the jacket. Then we go one step further and install the heat resistant colored VITEK braid. The VITEK Ultra Series Braided ignition wires are handcrafted which produce a far superior product. The Terminals : VITEK Ultra Series Braided spark plug wire quality is continued at the ignition cable terminal. The terminals are made of 100% stainless steel as opposed to zinc plated steel or bare steel with no plating which most manufacturers use to cut costs. The use of Stainless Steel prevents premature failure of the wire set by eliminating terminal corrosion. The spark plug terminals incorporate an extra long crimp area, which increases terminal pull off strength to over 50 pounds. This is twice the strength of most ignition wires on the market. Terminal pull off is the number one cause of claimed defective wire sets. A high-grade steel snap ring is designed into the terminal, which not only ensures a positive connection but also eliminates an area of possible electronic interference generation. In addition, where a bent terminal is required, VITEK uses a terminal bent to the shape of the boot rather than a straight terminal forced through a 90º degree boot as seen in many of our competitor's products. While our terminals are as much as three times the price of those used by our competitors, the contribution to a superior finished product far exceeds the investment.

The Boots : VITEK Ultra Series Braided spark plug wire cable boots exceed original equipment requirements and are designed to original equipment shapes for ease of installation and superior fit. Our spark plug boots are made of pure high-grade silicone so as to withstand the high heat conditions encountered with high performance engines in modern engine compartments. Straight spark plug boots are of an extra heavy-duty finger pull design. Both in appearance and function, these boots are as good as it gets.
