IMPORTANT MANUFACTURER RECCOMENDATIONS
Vitek performance products
are designed and built with the highest level of quality and
integrity. The following recommendations will help you get
the most from your Vitek ignition products.
- Using the dielectric gel enclosed with your
wires will help increase the life of the product as a lubricant
and as an anti corrosion material. Simply dab some gel from
the package to the connection terminals on both ends before
connecting. It is important to get the gel on the metal part
of the terminal for the gel to properly function. On the
plug end, it may be necessary to use a small screwdriver
to get up into the plug end of the boot.
- It is
NOT RECOMENDED that you remove your plug wires on a regular
routine basis. Ignition wires are designed to stay on the
vehicle for at least 50,000 to 60,000 miles, and are not
designed to be removed and re-installed every weekend or
every month. Because we use stainless steel snap rings on
the plug end, continued removal and installation can result
in terminal pull-off.
- It is NOT RECOMENDED that you remove the wires
from the engine until the engine temperature has cooled. Removing
the wires when the engine is warm or hot will result in the
silicone being too soft which increases the potential for terminal
pull-off.
- CLEANING the wires properly will go along way
in helping you keep your wires looking great. It is recommended
that you use a light organic cleaner such as Simple Green and
that you NEVER USE cleaners with bleach or harsh engine cleaners
such as GUNK.
Over time there is obviously no way to avoid dirt and grease
build-up under your hood. The warranty on your Vitek wires
is for 90 days and covers workmanship defects only. After that
period, if you would like to have your Vitek Wires re-braided
due to cleanliness or you simply want to change colors, you
can contact Vitek Performance Products direct at 1-888-590-2222 toll free and we will re-braid them in the color of your choice
for a one-time charge of $50.00/4 cylinder, $60.00/6cylinder,
and $70.00/8cylinder plus shipping.
